What this is
A vision, a lab, and an open notebook
Three things live on this site. The 2040 vision, a long-range picture of the town Sisters could be, held to a simple test: will this make Sisters a better place to live twenty-five years from now? The Civic Design Lab, the working engine that researches, prototypes, and measures ideas in public. And an open notebook of research, project logs, and results, published whether or not they flatter us.
The project is in its founding phase. It was founded by Matthew “Paz” Pasley, a Sisters resident, technologist, parent, and community volunteer. Paz runs it as a volunteer and funds it himself. It has no authority and it isn’t asking for any. Its only tools are evidence, transparency, and invitation.
What this is not
Drawing the line plainly
Not a political campaign. It endorses no candidates, funds no campaigns, and takes no partisan positions. The 2040 horizon was picked because it outlasts every election cycle.
Not the government. It is unaffiliated with the City of Sisters, the school district, and every public agency. It advises and it publishes. Accountable institutions decide.
Not a done deal. Nothing here is adopted policy. Every proposal carries a visible trust label and an open invitation to challenge it.
Who it's for
Everyone with a stake in this valley
The project serves the whole community, and its work is only as good as the range of people in the room.
